Thought for the De 7h Nov

If you only have aspiration, if you make a great deal of verbal affirmations and assertions that "I want God realisation, God-realisation alone, nothing else but God-realisation", but don't dynamically move towards that supreme goal through your life and through your actions - then God-realisation will be where it is, you will remain where you are.

Swami Chidananda.

It is not the outer atmosphere that is the important factor; it is the inner atmosphere that you yourself create. Live in that inner atmosphere - serene, unaffected by the other atmosphere. Your life is in your hand. You create your world; you create your atmosphere.

Swami Chidananda

Real Vedanta can never make a man narrow or self-centred, for it is a process of infinity expansion of consciousness and not of contraction.

Swami Chidananda

Yoga gives you the answer to the question: "why have I come here and what is my task in life?"

Swami Chidananda

Do not underestimate the value of your mind. It is your precious friend. It is your great well-wisher. It is an invaluable helper. It is a source of all good. Know it as such, treat it as such, utilise it as such. Then you will be wise. Then you will rejoice.

—Swami Chidananda

A child says "I", but its "I" is like a line drawn on the surface of water. It leaves no trace because it has no ego; it has no arrogance. It is simple; it is innocent. It is this simplicity of the inner nature that is the way. Therefore "Be like children".
